Re delle Alpi: exclusive wellness among snow and breathtaking views
After a day on the slopes, nothing feels better than indulging in the warmth of a spa at 2,000 meters above sea level, with a stunning view of Mont Blanc. This is the experience offered by Re delle Alpi, a refined 4-star hotel in La Thuile, Valle d’Aosta, born from the transformation of the historic Maison de Neige Hotel into a unique and innovative mountain resort.
Next to the historic building, a modern extension has been created, featuring a new reception, a stylish lounge, and a panoramic spa offering moments of relaxation with a view of snow-capped peaks. The hotel also boasts 12 new rooms – including 5 executive suites and 3 junior suites – some with private spa areas for an intimate and exclusive wellness experience.
Re delle Alpi carries a fascinating history: originally built in 1924 as a military barracks for border guards, today it stands directly on slope number 7 San Bernardo, the longest in the ski area, accessible ski-in/ski-out or by snowcat provided by the hotel. The recent renovation, designed by Studio D73 for interiors and Studio Associato LGL for architecture, expanded the property by 1,400 sqm, bringing the total to 26 rooms and adding new lounge areas, a redesigned ski room, and a panoramic veranda with large windows overlooking the mountains of La Thuile.
The new Wellness & Relax Spa is a true gem: not only for hotel guests but also open to external visitors seeking a regenerating break. Inside, you’ll find different types of saunas, a Turkish bath, a Mediterranean steam bath, sensory showers, and a large infinity pool with water jets and waterfalls, as well as a spacious relaxation area with spectacular views of the Alps. Whether immersed in warm water or unwinding on soft loungers, guests enjoy a pure wellness experience surrounded by snow.
Every space has been designed with meticulous care, combining alpine warmth and contemporary style. Surfaces by Ariostea, part of Iris Ceramica Group, enhance floors and walls: the Legni High-Tech collection, resistant and non-slip, adds warmth to wellness areas and the pool; Ultra Marmi – Bianco Paonazzetto S brings brightness and elegance to walls; the Bambù – Silk Georgette collection enhances textures with light effects; while the darker tones of Materie High-Tech create refined contrasts in the common spaces. The result is a perfect balance of alpine tradition and modern innovation.
The new rooms and suites, designed by Studio D73, combine comfort and a soothing atmosphere through harmonious colors and refined details. Suites with private spas allow guests to enjoy exclusive wellness without leaving their room. The experience is completed by a gourmet restaurant – among the finest in Valle d’Aosta – and a modern lounge featuring Made in Italy details: wood, stone, and backlit onyx create a warm and elegant ambiance.
With its 160 km of slopes in the Espace San Bernardo ski area, crossing Italy and France, La Thuile is a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts. Yet, at Re delle Alpi, guests also discover relaxation, wellness, and haute cuisine. An exclusive retreat where you can experience the mountains in all their beauty, far from the city’s hustle and bustle.
